I had two vehicles that I put a buy it now price on them, two different (0) level ebay ID s bought the autos. Overnight (at night) someone, supposedly two someones bought the cars.
On phone sounds like Iraq, Iran, or desert area type person anyways.
They don't seem to understand you don't take the payment they send. They disregard your emails and even reply with your email and say they sent money and a shipper will phone on the day the payment is to arrive.
This guy must be the same person all the names on the emails are similar and using Yahoo or other free email accounts. (ebay should put in place a new policy wherein a new bidder is excluded from bidding until ebay has time to check out the new bidder's contact information - this would stop this scam!)
The buyer says he is heading to England and will not be in the country - so he or they are using falsified english postal stamps and cancellations too.
the payments did indeed arrive within 3 days via what looked like mail from England. I received three money orders for the same amount as I was asking for the car 750 but all three money orders were for 750! then this supposedly shipper phones as well wanting me to run cash the checks or money orders and call him so he can pick up the car and he will get me an address to send the extra money to on the day the payment arrives here!
I also got in the same mail from England a cashiers check for $3000 other car sold for 750 as well.
I phoned and got on the internet and checked out all these methods of payment, all were fraud or invalid payments. the cashiers check was not written on that bank and there was one number off on the routing number.
the money orders were already cashed weeks ago, so what they sent me were numbers they were stealing off cashed money orders and these people are printing up their own methods of payment.
money laundering.
I am getting all sorts of scam emails now, and again. I had nearly cleared all that out of my email accounts, please put your fake email address on ebay folks, I plan to start using a Yahoo acct email myself. Don't ever reply to an email they send you.
within the first 2 hours I had already checked out the contact information on these two bidders, all their contact info was not valid, I had left the negative feedbacks within the 3rd hour and ebay refunded my fees within 24 hours. I was lucky, but do your own investigations if you get one of these deals handed to you.
Never cash a check or money order without checking it first to be sure its valid, they can get you for fraud for participating in the scam!!
I know I am writing this up quickly and probably missed something, but please be aware of this scam or any scam. tell others.
