i have built show winning model cars for years with common stuff you can buy at the hard ware store.i use wood filler for body putty wood filler is made of plastic it works great.i use metal foil tape from the duct tape section in the store you just have to cut it into strips and mold it to the body using a tooth pic it takes some pratice but the results are great just press it into the grooves with the point .you will not belive the results.painting this is the most importint part of the car.it is easer than you think.first you need to build a simple paint stand.you will need 2 metal coat hangers and a block of wood 4 screws.you take the block of wood and drill a hole in the middle of it.then you take the coat hangers and bend them out till you have 2 strait rods bend them in half so that you have 4 points.press the bent ends in to the hole in the block of wood you will need to push them hard till they come throu the other side.on the bottom screw the 4 screws into the 4 cornners make sure they are level now you have the feet.take the 4 rods at the top and strech them out wide so when you put the car body on the 4 rods stick out the windsheld and rear window. now when you paint you can hold the car in any postion and spray the whole car just hold the block you can spray under the car with out getting paper or watever you used to paint on on the car.after your done painting remember to put the metal foil on the chrome and the decals before you clear cote this will seal it all together.do not clear over the windows they will fog if you clear coat them.use flat paint under the car and for the interior.to paint the parts on the trees just paint them black when they are dry use a tooth pic and pain the details with your colours.to black out the grill or other chrome just paint the section black and before it dries stick your finger in a paper towel and lightly wipe across.with a little pratice you will be a pro in no time.i will be adding more info at a later time happy modeling GARFIELDSTAZ
