Blenko Orange Yellow Art Glass Vase Holder Rough Pontil.

Blenko glass is much prized for its opulent color and the unprecedented scale of its sculptural pieces.  Rarer decorative wares by certain designers can command four figure sums, but there is still plenty to amass for under $300-although not for long!

Bold forms: Early wares were often influenced by swedish designs and can be uneven, with visible tool marks.  These "idiosyncratic" pieces are snapped up by collectors selling for $30-$150 each.  For investment buys it is essential to know that the glass factory really hit its stride when it employed its first in house designer, Winslow Anderson, in 1946.  His revolutionary designs, made between 1947-53, are very collectable: for instance his 948 bent neck decanter and scultural horn vase can be worth $150-400.
