ok the first thing about sending your payment through the mail is the mail can run slowly at times especialy during holiday's.the best way to pay for a item on ebay or any other source is through paypal.i know ,i know paypal charges for thier services.but the buyer and the seller are protected.and you will be able to monitor your payments.if you are going to mail a payment out it is best to never send cash in the mail.if you send cash there is no proof that it was in the envelope,thus the buyer could say they never received the payment.if you want assurance that the payment was received the best way is to purchase a united states postal money order,they can be tracked easily. and the post office will not charge you to cash there money order's.and they can tell you if it has been cashed or not.other non postal money order'susually charge a fee to be cashed unless you deposit them into your bank account.and there are several dishonest buyers that will send counterfit money order's.the u.s postal money order is the safest when it comes to mailing a payment.you can also send a u.s.postal money order to our international buyer's. remember try to never send cash as payment.and when mailing a payment be sure to include a note along to cover the money order,as thier are dishonest people that also handel our mail.also i found that a tracking number is a good idea (aka) delivery confirmation.this way the buyer or receiver can not say the item was never received.the post office tracking # has to be scanned by the carrier or mailman,upon delivery.and that information is then recorded into the usps.system. if you have no other choice than to send cash,remember to fold it in, a piece of notebook paper as to deteer any sticky fingers,paypal is also another way to make sure the payment will and was made. it is easy to sign up for a paypal card.and they are accepted just about everywhere.remember if you sell an item and ship it to the buyer remember to purchase the delivery confirmation.it's only 0.60 cent's.and it can save the seller a lot of headaches..
