When searching for a line for our boutique, I came across a little company in Vermont called Zutano.  They'd been around since 1989 and offer bright colors, fun patterns and great styles.  Plus the majority of their outfits are made of 100% cotton - cool, comfy and super easy care!

Their most popular line is Baby Basics and comes in four separate size ranges:  0-6 months, 6-12 months, 12-18 months and 18-24 months.  They offer styles ranging from leggings and simple tees to versatile swing tops and dresses.  The pattern selection is amazing!  Bright solids, stripes and polka dots plus fun patterns are just perfect for mix/matching to suit your own personality.  Go as wild as you want with funky patterns or tone it down with some of their basic solids.  The possibilites are endless!  Their pieces are so lightweight and versatile they are also great for layering.  Zutano also has a great website where you can view patterns - much too extensive for adding separate photos here!   

New patterns are available each Spring and Fall for both boys and girls.  Because so many of their pieces are gender neutral this is a wonderful line for baby gifts!  Even though it is considered "Boutique" it is very reasonably priced.  A complete two piece outfit will run in the range of $25-$30, depending on which pieces you choose to combine.  Add a versatile button up shirt/jacket and you've got an outfit for any climate.

This line is 100% cotton and they do shrink slightly when washed - some pieces more than others.   Their size chart is pretty accurate to help figure out which size fits best.  Swing tops are very generous in sizing and can easily extend through several seasons by wearing alone or with a long sleeve top under.  Shorts and leggings also are generous in waist and bottom, plus they have soft elastic for comfortable against skin.  For potty trained children, I wouldn't be surprised if a 18/24m didn't still fit in the 2T-3T range, especially shorts when length would not be an issue.  For one piece outfits, which are less generously cut, it's best to follow size chart exactly.      

When washing, to help keep the colors bright and cheery, turn pieces inside out  and use cold water whenever possible.  This will help prevent fading and keep your outfit looking it's best.  A little preventive care can really extend it's life and then you can always resell on eBay!
