Zildjian K Series Cymbal
If this review is helpful, I would appreciate it if you would check "yes" at the bottom. Thanks!
Not long ago, we decided that we were going to go back to accoustic drums and real cymbals (as opposed to the Roland Electronic kit) at our church. It had been a long time since I had shopped for cymbals and I was a bit surprised at how expensive a lot of them were. Still, there's an old saying "You get what you pay for", and I believe that this is true for most things in general, but really true for cymbal sound quality.
My friend and I made the trek to Atlanta Pro Percussion to see what was out there. I nearly got carpal tunnel from playing the multitude of cymbals that they had in stock, and after a while everything started sounding alike (mainly because my head was ringing!). I finally decided, let's ask a sales guy for his professional opinion. The guy told me that he personally used Zildjian K series cymbals and pointed me to that section. We listened to them, and when we listened to the K Dark cymbals, I new I was in love! Here are some of the adjectives that came to mind when I played them: Warm, Dark, Full, Rich! I know that everyone has a personal preference for cymbal sounds, but for me, these are the bomb! These cymbals (new) are in the $200-$300 range but they are well worth it in my humble opinion. I got the 22" Ride, a 16" Crash, an 18" crash and a 10" splash. I would highly recommend them to anyone!
