In our search for vintage, antique and estate jewelry, we learn a great deal about artists and designers of the past and present. Here is an informative guide to a contemporary American jewelry design studio that is worth our attention.

While browsing an estate sale in the Midwest, we found a contemporary sterling silver "Y" drop necklace with lovely filigree detail, pearls and smoky quartz. It appeared to be expertly hand crafted and had a sterling silver hang tag that said YVONE CHRISTA on one side and 925 with a crown mark on the reverse.

It was not easy to find out more about this company. But we were impressed by what we learned. Reportedly, Yvonne Clamf and Christina Söderström have a boutique in the Soho area (and perhaps elsewhere). They make lovely Swedish-influenced designs in sterling silver and in fine gold plated sterling silver with a variety of gem stones.

Their pieces are true works of art enjoyed by celebrity clients and people of good taste everywhere. As I understand it, their shop is staffed by friendly helpful salespeople. At the time this Ebay guide is being written, the Yvone Christa web site domain exists. But the actual web site is under construction.

I've seen their jewelry in some online boutiques and even on the Neiman Marcus web site. Although, there are currently no Yvone Christa items available for sale on the site. Prices I've seen vary, approximately $150 and up.
