Yummy PEACH COBBLER Recipe
Large Size Serves 12
My son didn't want a "normal" cake for his birthday, instead he wanted a peach cobbler. I needed a larger size, so I adapted a recipe some. It turned out delicious so I decided to share!
NO CAKE THIS YEAR
HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED
BATTER:
-
1/2 cup melted butter**
-
1 cup flour
-
1 cup sugar
-
2 tsp. baking powder
-
1/4 tsp. salt
-
2/3 cup milk
-
1 egg
-
1/2 tsp. vanilla
** Best NOT to substitute with margarine
FILLING:
- 1 (28 ounce) can sliced peaches & one (14 ounce) can sliced peaches - drained***
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
*** reserve 2 TBS of Peach Syrup
HERE'S WHAT YOU DO
After pre-heating your oven to 350 degrees
- melt butter in 9" x 13" pan
- Mix together flour, sugar baking powder & salt
- Stir in milk, egg & vanilla
- Pour evenly over butter in pan
- Combine peaches, the reserved syrup, sugar & spices and spread over batter - DO NOT STIR
- Bake approx. 35-45 minutes at 350 degrees or until batter comes to the top & is golden brown
- Best Served warm with vanilla ice cream!
- ENJOY
