Your guide to Plus Size Fashion for the trendier crowd
Who ever said affordable fashion was only for tiny people? Think again!
Back when I was a teenager, being plus size meant that you had to shop at old lady stores or just settle for a lot less than what you would prefer..it was just plain depressing, unless you preferred the shapeless tent look the selection was horribly minimal and not appealing whatsoever. The plus size industry has finally started to listen, we also deserve to feel comfortable, sexy and ready to take on the world. The plus size industry has definetely come a long way with their awareness in the past few years providing trendier clothes to the younger crowds up to a size 30 and I believe it will continue to meet the consumers demands and grow increasingly stronger. No matter what your age or style, there is something for every plus size fashionista these days.
It's not that easy to find a good deal on plus size clothing even today unless you know where and how to look. Many plus size consumers do not live close to a plus size store and if they do, their selection is still minimal and horribly over priced in most cases. Today, the best way to shop for plus size clothing is online hands down.
Finding a clearance rack is great but it would be nice to find the newest and up to date trendy plus size clothing at and around the same prices you would pay for regular size clothing. Teens often can not afford the trendy jeans for $75, unless they can successfully convince their parents of its absolute necessity. As the Plus Size industry grows, so does the competition and with competition that means that we the consumer can start being more picky with our shopping which is great for the consumer and revolutionary for the plus size shopper!
Ebay Plus Size Shopping guide
Ebay is possibly one of the best ways to shop for plus size fashions online, and still get the latest trends. You can always find affordable brand new trendy plus size fashions on Ebay, you just have to be patient and do some exploring to find exactly what you're looking for.
Here is the easiest way to shop for exactly what you are looking for.
From ebay's home page there is a search engine right at the top, type in a Key Word such as your size, example: "22/24" next to the box you just typed in is a pull down menu, click the arrow on the right of that box and click on "Clothing, Shoes & Accessories" then click the button to the right that says "Search". Now you have a ton of listings to search for but we can narrow this down a bit more! To the left of this page there are "Matching Categories" click on "Women's Clothing"..then in the same spot you clicked "Women's Clothing" you will see it now says "Plus Sizes" click on it. Now you have narrowed your search down quite a bit. You can now search for specific things like tops, dresses, pants, skirts under the matching categories. This is an awesome tool!
Just to be thorough I am including another way to accomplish the same goal if you prefer.
From ebay's home page there is a list of categories. On the very bottom, click on "All Categories" now you will see a list of categories in alphebetical order, under Clothing, Shoes & Accessories click on where it says "Women's...". Now you will see a bunch of listings but we still need to narrow this down quite a bit so you will need to click the link on the left side of this page under categories that says "Plus Sizes". Now in the search engine which is the big empty box you can type in, just type in the size you are looking for within this category. For example, type in "22/24" or "3x", now your search has been narrowed down to exactly what you are looking for.
Bookmarking your favorite sellers
If you find a favorite plus size seller it would be best to add the seller to your "Favorite Sellers" list. Chances are if you find some styles you like, they may have many more where it came from. Many sellers like myself add more to their listings on a daily basis and you will want to be the first to find the best bargains. Look at the sellers feedback score and make sure they are a reputable seller, do not hesitate to contact the seller and ask any questions you may have. You can add a seller to your favorites list by clicking a link on the right side of their auction that says "Add to Favorite Sellers" Ebay will then give you the option to be added to a Sellers Newsletter list as well. Once you are done, click "Save Seller/Store".
