Your Guide to Original Government Packaging (OGP)
OGP stands for Original Government Packaging. A complete set of OGP for any coin should contain: the box, display holder (or book), Certificate of Authenticity and plastic coin capsule(s).
Many avid coin collectors purchase coins after they have been professionally graded, and placed in a rectangular holder commonly referred to as a slab. Once the coins have been graded and sealed in a slab they will no longer fit in the original packaging as if you had purchased the coin from the mint. However, having the original packaging for your coin can complete any collection.
OGPWorld offers a wide variety of OGP for coins and coin sets ranging from 1980’s to current. Not only can you find the packaging for your coin, but you can also find replacement parts for packaging you already own. Many buyers come to us looking for a Certificate of Authenticity because the one they have has been damaged or worn over time.
