I learned quite by accident that I don't need a box for most of my packing.
In the following information I will explain how to wrap a table cloth without a box and have a custom package that your customer will be happy to receive.
Before wrapping be sure and have all material ready for the task at hand.
tissue or wrapping paper
ribbon
scissors
box cutter
shipping tape
flat cardboard section
durable shipping paper ( I will explain this later)
1. Always inspect item to be packed, just in case there is something you missed, such as a stain, a rip or even a mistake in measurement. Be sure and match to the picture in the sold listing.
2. You want to make sure the item is reduced to a size that will work most efficiently for packing. In this case I am folding a table cloth down to desired packing size.
3. Wrap item with wrapping paper or tissue. I always add a ribbon and a bow to package if at all possible.
4. Once you have wrapped this item and have it ready for the customer, find a durable piece of cardboard that can be wrapped around the package.
5. When you have this in place add tape to stabilize.
6. Use paper that is durable enough to use as a shipping material and wrap package and tape closed
7. Weigh and print label.
Using this method on as many package as possible you will find that you have cut your packing cost considerably. In addition, you will not have to store bulky boxes.
Paper can be bought at hardware store for about $10 a roll that is durable enough for shipping. This is the kind of paper that is used on the sub floor prior to laying a floor. You will find this is the best buy on durable paper for shipping.
You have now learned a perfect method to wrap an item without a box.
If this guide has been helpful please let me know. I have used this idea for a long time and have had great sucess, with many compliments from my customers. A perfect solution to quickly doing a package without the complication of a box and having boxes stored for every item.
