The first step is going to Wedding Apparel and searching for the gown you want.  Pay very close attention to the seller's feedback.  I highly recommend the Ebay store, Lightup Bridal.  My niece recently got her wedding gown from them and for $199.00 plus shipping, she got a gown that you would easily pay at least $2,000 for in town.

Most sellers give you the option of ordering a certain size or sending them your measurements and letting them make the gown to fit you.  I recommend taking the time to take the measurements they need.  One pointer I have learned from many sellers is that wedding gowns usually run two sizes larger than your usual clothing size.  That is why it's better to play it safe and send them your measurements.  You will also need to include the heel height of the shoes you are going to wear.

You do not want to wait until the last minute to order your dress.  Make sure there is plenty of time for any alterations or changes you decide to have done.  For example, my niece decided she wanted the detailed bead and lace work on the bodice to go down closer to the waist.  Lightup Bridal was more than glad to do this for her.
