When I shop on Ebay, the first thing that I look for is what the shipping costs would be for that auction.  I have decided that since I look for reasonable and fair shipping charges, I will only offer fair shipping prices.

Here is what I purchased to make shipping easier and cheaper for everyone:

1.  Invest in a Digital Scale:  I just did a search on Ebay for digital scales.  I got mine for .99 ... but paid $15.00 in shipping (Ironic I know).  The shipping charges were high, but the combined cost was still a lot cheaper then any of the other scales that I had found.

2.  Costco:  I purchase my Ziploc bags, large manilla envelopes,  mailing tape, and ink cartridges at Costco.  I get a lot for a great price!  Just remember to remove the metal fastener from your envelopes or the Post Office will charge you extra to hand feed your envelope through the machines.

3.  USPS:  I order my Priority Flat Rate boxes and envelopes directly from the USPS website.  They are absolutely free and come delivered to my home.  I use the Flat Rate envelopes all the time.   I can get 4-6 pieces of children's clothing, adult jeans, kid's shoes and much more into the Flat Rate envelope.  Since I know that I can get a pair of women's plus size jeans into the $4.60 Flat Rate Envelope from the USPS I will NEVER pay the $10.00 to $15.00 that a lot of sellers charge.

4.  Ebay:  I purchased a First Class ink stamp from Ebay and it works great!

5.  Vistaprint.com:  I went to this site to get FREE business cards that I include with each sale.  They add a personal touch and let the buyer know the best way to find me if they have a compliment or concern.

How I Prepare my Packages:

Each item is sealed in a Ziploc bag with a business card.  Next, I put the bag inside the USPS Flat Rate envelope/manilla envelope.  I then attach my postage and I am done.  Next I log onto USPS.com to schedule a pick-up... and my job is done!  Remember that printing your shipping from home gets you the Delivery Confirmation.  Delivery Confirmation is free with the Flat Rate and it is only.18 when you ship First Class.  Delivery Confirmation is a nice feature for the buyer and sellers alike.

When I first started Ebay, I did go to the Post Office.  It started to not be fun anymore, so I needed to change how I did things.  Purchasing a scale was my first step and has made a huge difference!

I take pride in offering real shipping prices.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any shipping questions of your own.
