Yamaha rx-v2700. A Guide to the Yamaha RX-v2700
This receiver's crux is in its inflexibility, there are just too many things that the receive cannot do whic is a shame because if they could have fixed the following issues this thing would stand head over heels above the rest:
Analog to Digital Conversion? Forget about it.
Most people use digital audio for the input into their home system, but for whatever reason the receiver cannout provide a flat analog output from digital ins. It's the strangest thing I've ever encountered in my 15+ years working with AV equipment. It doesn't make any sense at all but alas it is the case with this system.
Strange Remote Control
I wish i still had my system so I could take a picture of the remote control, but I returned mine already. Anyway the thing is very complicated even for someone who is skilled at programming to get. It isn't the most intuitive way i've seen to control a system. The presets also aren't remembered so if you forget to put your system on charger you're pretty much screwed.
Look, bottom line is if you're looking for a system that you don't want or need to tweak pick up the Yamaha RX-V2600. If you're looking for a system that you can actually modify look else wehre or wait till next year when Yamaha fixese the problems with the current receiver.
