I was very tired of my master bedroom that seriously needed color and redecorating. The bedroom had a neutral light beige comforter, no rug just dirty looking white color tiles that looked no better after cleaning. Two windows with white blinds, and mismatched dressers, and the walls a light yellow ecru color that looked like the walls used to be white but were covered with smoke residue from over the years really bad color. With having a budget of not much over a hundred dollars I could not afford to replace the furniture, but still changed my bedroom to look a combination of colorful traditional/contemporary/shabby chic all in one in my budget. My new comforter with light blue,white,tan,brown and navy blue stripes came to $35.00 dollars. Then next I bought the rug that same day in a navy blue and white big diamond type design, rug covers about half the bedroom good enough for seeing and using, rug cost $17.00 on sale. Then the very next day I bought discounted long white lace curtains 4 panels total (2 panels per window) for a total of $10.00 (2.50 per panel) that touch the floor. My white tall paper floor lamp cost $10.00 on special. My end table in white and chrome cost $12.00. The third day I bought a blue glass vase $2.00, fake purple and white flowers $1.50 discounted, 2 candles one pink and one tan, and 2 blue glass candle holders $2.00. Then I bought the paint and paint brush rollers and that came to $23.00 total.  My room ended up colorful with multi colored comforter, matching and coordinating accessories and curtains, and for a splash of bold lilac purple walls. I LOVE my bedroom now, enjoy reading and writing and watching television in there, not just for sleeping anymore. My total came to $113.00 for what I consider a marvelous transformation lovely bedroom oasis. Including painting the room along with shopping it took 5 days not spending all day every day, and worth every minute and every penny.  Now when I look at the design on a budget shows where they spend (ONLY) a thousand to 2 thousand dollars to do over one room I have a good laugh and givd thanks I didn't hire them!!
