Are you looking for XM Satellite Radio for your vehicle, but you don't want to change the factory radio? XM Direct by Terk is a good option. Terk XM Direct Products will allow you to add XM Satellite Radio service to your existing OEM car stereo. XM Direct is a two part system ( Universal Tuner box and Smart Digital adapter or cable) that integrates directly with your satellite radio ready car stereo and allows you to use a car stereo's existing functions to control the XM service. The universal tuner box must be used in conjunction with the brand specific Smart Digital Adapters or Digital adapter cables.
Here's the deal, Is it compatible with your factory OEM stereo? They make adapters for Toyota, Ford, Chevrolet, Mercury, Lincoln, Buick, Cadillac, GMC Truck, Hummer, Pontiac, Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep. Not all adaptors are compatible. For instance, if you have a Dodge Dakota, they don't make an adapter to go with that, so you will have to make sure the item is compatible before you purchase. Make sure your car is listed in the compatility chart (since eBay doesn't allow non eBay links, we have attached our me page, all you have to do is click on Terk OEM Compatiblity Chart and it will direct you to the PDF)
Many people have purchased the XMDFDK , or XMDCPK only to find out that it is not compatible with their year, make and model Ford or Chrysler. Please make sure you check the compatility chart before your purchase.
Once you have determined if your car is compatible, you will need to purchase the item and activate it with XM Satellite Radio service. You can activate over the phone or online at xmradio.com . Also, I would highly suggest that you have this item professionally installed, it does take quite a bit of effort to install one, and you may need extra parts depending on the vehicle. For instance GMC may need an antenna adaptor (40-GM10) which should run roughly $10 or so.
