What is Wulong Tea?
The lastest trend in weight loss is Wulong tea (also spelled wu long or oolong). Wolong or Oolong tea has a long history goig back to the Fujian provence of China, most likely starting during the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644) when the tea fermentation process was originally developed. It modern times it is produced in Tawain, Vietnam, Sri Lanka or Ceylon and India.
Wulong tea is a semi-fernented tea in varying degrees. It is not green tea or black tea but somewhere in between which contributes to mulitiple properties and an excellent taste. Brewed Wulong has a bright golden-yellowish color with a strong and pleasant aroma and nice lasting aftertaste. When steeped three to four minutes these curled leaves unfurl.
Recent scientific studies has shown that tea contributes to the burning of fat and increases metabolism. Tea has a thermogenesis property which boost calorie burning and fat loss. It is important to drink tea without sugar to obtain the weight loss characteristics and Wolong tea is one of those teas that may be enjoyed without it.
