What if I want to write a review of a product not listed on the Reviews & Guides page?

One of the top FAQ's about Reviews is "Why don't I see reviews for every product I see on eBay?" and the answer is "Currently, eBay has reviews for only a few categories, including books, dvds, music and cell phones. If you are researching a specific product, try searching for both reviews and guides."  But you can write a review of anything you want!  How?  Write a review in your blog!  Ok, so nobody can vote on it and it won't count towards your reviewer status, but it is still a good way to tell others about your experiences with certain products.  This guide will contain links to all of the reviews written as blog posts.

How to do it

1. Create your eBay blog.  To do this, go to http://blogs.ebay.com/ and click on "Start Blogging" - its easy to do!
2. Click on "New Entry".  When others search for blog posts they will search for the text "Review" so that text needs to appear in your post.  So I suggest starting the title of your post with "Review of"  Then you can finish the title with a the name of the item.  See an example.
   
3. In the box labeled "Entry" click(check) "View Source" then paste the following text (everything between the single quotes, not including the single quotes): '<center><h1>Write a Review of Anything!</h1><a href="http://reviews.ebay.com/Write-a-review-of-anything_W0QQugidZ10000000001814841">Browse/Learn more</a></center>'.  Then uncheck "View Source".  You should see a link to this guide.  People can then get to this guide easily to browse through other reviews.
   
4. Below the link you just created (still in the box labeled "Entry") type your review.  You can even include a picture by including the code <img src="http://imagelocation/imagename>. See this guide to learn how to do it.
   
5. Click "Post".  This will display your post to the eBay community.
   

Browse Reviews in the Following Categories

Items in the following categories (or some subcategories within these categories) cannot be reviewed on eBay.  But you can still review them in your blog!  Send me a message letting me know that you wrote a review and I will post a link to it below.
