MYTH  - All WWF and WCW / NWA factory sealed videos include a watermark on their shrinkwrap. 

FACT: Not true, however most certainly did.  You will always want to look for the watermark (or a reputable seller) before investing any big bucks towards a factory sealed wrestling video for your collection.  For WWF Coliseum Video's, the "Made in Canada" sticker is a STICKER,....it's not a watermark.  It's unfortunate that some people have clearly gone to great lengths to re-shrink previously opened wrestling videos in some instances I've seen on eBay over the years to pass off as factory sealed.  Every industry is unfortunately victim to fakes and bootlegging.  Don't let yourself be fooled.  If purchasing factory sealed wrestling videos to keep as brand new and sealed for your collection, best suggestion would be to always look to work with long-time reputable sellers you trust.

 

MYTH - Factory sealed WWF Coliseum Videos that have large quantities of a free gift inside it's sealed shrinkwrap (eg. 50 stickers) were factory errors. 

FACT: These videos were purposely packaged this way and provided for video rental stores only, with the idea being for stores to open them up to remove the gifts, and then to reward their customers to rent WWF movies by offering one of these exclusive token gifts with each rental made.  Only 1 video would be received with these gifts in mass quantity, with the balance of stock received not including these gifts.  It was common for many older Coliseum Video titles to have a solo gift included, however finding a factory sealed box containing multiple gifts (eg. minimum Qty. 10) that remained in factory sealed condition is super rare!

 

MYTH - The quality of KOCH produced WWE DVD's are inferior to their USA released WWE counterpart. 

FACT: KOCH markets and distributes all WWE DVD's for Canada and the Canadian market.  WWE DVD's for the USA market are stamped as Made in Mexico, and WWE DVD's for the Canadian market are Made in Canada -- aside from this detail, there is zero difference!  There is zero loss of quality, the product is identical in every way!!

 

MYTH - NWA Starrcade 1985 (colour box art) is the rarest wrestling video in existence. 

FACT: WCW Bash at the Beach 2000 is by far the rarest original wrestling video available today.  While it's true that Starrcade 85's colour box art version is a tough find, it was mass produced in far larger quantities than the rare BATB 2000, which saw it's shelf-life drastically shrink following Hulk Hogan's real-life lawsuit against WCW.  How many are in existence today?  Nobody knows for certain, but good-luck finding the original for your collection!!  It commands some big bucks.

 

MYTH - VHS videos and DVD's from Canada will not work on USA VCR's and DVD players.  FACT: Not true!!  VHS and DVD are the exact same for all of North America (NTSC for VHS, and Region 1 for DVD).  They are identical in every way.  NTSC (ie. North American) VHS videos will even play in most PAL VCR's (for the UK market), however PAL videos will not work with North American VCR's.
