Beware of a group that is trying to scam eBayers with a high starting bid scenario.  The hook is they will put a ridculously high starting bid on a vehicle, in my case a Jeep Wrangler.  This particular incident the scamers put a statring bid of $86000 for a 2005 Unlimited Rubicon.  With the starting bid so high you cannot bid unless you bid the $86000. So when you email to inquire about the price they capture your email address.  Then either eBay shuts the auction down or they close it themselves and email all the people with a spoof second chance offer that looks like its from Ebay. The criminals then contacted me via my personal email address offered to sell the vehicle for $8600 and pay for shipping.  In my case I was given the story of a woman who is recently divorced and got the Jeep in the settlement.   Now mind you this is a vehicle worth $20000 plus.  They then sent the spoof eBay second chance offer with the payment instructions via wire transfer.  I checked my Messages on eBay and sure enough there was no second chance offer.  I forwarded the spoof to eBay and my suspecions were confirmed.  Within a week I have seen the scam two more times.

Update: there is a group using a similar type as the one above.  On this one they have a fully loaded Jeep Wrangler with thousands of dollars in extras and are willing to sell at a very low price with no reserve.  This particular one they left off the VIN and Mileage.  When I contacted the "person" to obtain the VIN to run a history check they gave some story about being a Nato Doctor??? and  the person needed to leave the country.  I live an hour away and asked to see the vehicle and was told no but it was ready to ship.  What they do when enough people inquiring is they end the auction early and then contact you via personal email.

So just to summerize beware of obviously high starting bids on vehicles.  If you email a question be prepared for some sob story about why the the real price will be too good to be true and lastly, as it says all over the place on eBay never do a wire transfer to purchase a vehicle or purchase a vehicle outside of the eBay forum.  If you come accross this scam please report it to eBay.
