What is worm composting?

Worm composting converts kitchen scraps (e.g vegetables, egg shells, coffee grounds and even junk mail!) into nutrient-rich compost for your garden. Most experienced gardeners consider worm castings to be the very best compost available. Your plants will thrive with this all-natural compost.

Also called vermiculture, worm composting is easy, reduces your organic waste output (substantially), and produces excellent fertilizer.  Akin to recycling, this is an easy way to be greener every day.

How does The Worm Factory work?

The Worm Factory automatically separates worms from finished compost. The Worm Factory is easy to set up and easy to use. Place bedding and scraps in the bottom tray then add your worms. Place the lid inside the top tray to provide light cover with proper ventilation. As the worms finish digesting, they will migrate upward into the tray above, leaving rich castings behind. The concentrated liquid created from the worm castings, also known as worm tea, can be effortlessly drained as liquid fertilizer from the spigot at the bottom of The Worm Factory. It couldn’t be easier or cleaner. The lid also provides proper ventilation so there are no unpleasant odors. Because it’s clean, mess free, and odor free, composting with The Worm Factory makes it possible to be placed indoors or outdoors for home owners and apartment dwellers alike. In full operation, the Worm Factory houses 10,000 to 12,000 worms, consumes 5 to 8 pounds of food a week, allowing you to harvest a full tray of nutrient rich castings every month.

Each Worm Factory comes with simple but detailed instructions to help you get started. The Worm Factory is made in the U.S.A. The Worm Factory comes in two colors, black and terracotta. The black is constructed from high quality recycled plastic and the terracotta is made with pure-virgin food grade plastic. Each Worm Factory comes with a limited 5 year warranty on materials and workmanship.

What are the benefits of using The Worm Factory?

The Worm Factory Saves Space:

With its square design and having the smallest footprint of all the worm composters, The Worm Factory works great for anyone with space requirements. The Worm Factory uses a tray stacking system which allows it to hold the largest capacity of compost in the smallest amount of space.

The Worm Factory is Odorless:

When managed correctly, The Worm Factory is virtually odorless. This means that The Worm Factory can be used year round and can be housed anywhere including apartments, kitchens, garages, porches, etc.

The Worm Factory is Easy to Manage:

The 16 page instruction manual makes The Worm Factory easy to manage. The instruction manual makes the setup process fast and easy and gives detailed instructions on how manage the bin year round. Each tray holds 12.5lbs of compost which makes lifting and arranging trays effortless.

The Worm Factory Saves Time:

Let The Worm Factory do the work for you! Instead of spending time turning piles of compost yourself and removing worms by hand, the multi-tray system separates the worms from the compost so you don’t have to. Also, because the worms continually eat through your kitchen scraps and junk mail, nutrient-rich compost is produced at a faster rate than traditional ways of composting. This allows you to bring rich dark compost to your plants and gardens at a faster rate.

The Worm Factory Produces the Best Compost:

If you are a gardener, you know how your plants and gardens appreciate natural, nutrient-rich compost.  To get the most desirable compost for your plants and gardens is through the use of worms. The worms and bacteria inside them break down and add enzymes to your kitchen scraps and junk mail. Other forms of composting work, but The Worm Factory creates the kind of compost your plants and gardens will use and thrive off of.
