Never start foiling on an outside seam. You need to have the starting point of the copper foil on the inside of a seam. The first time you don't do this on a suncatcher, you'll understand what I'm talking about. As soon as your soldering iron touches the joined seam, it will immediately 'separate' the two pieces of foil where they are joined by burning off the adhesive backing! No matter how hard you try, you will NOT be able to make the edge look good. The more you work on it, the worse it will become...
A good habit to get into is to use a Sharpie marker and put a dot on the edge of the piece of glass that is facing outward. This way, when you do go to foil the project, you instantly know where NOT to start the foil.
If this guide helped you in any way, I'd appreciate you clicking the 'yes' button at the bottom of the page. :)
