Low-Rise jeans have a deliberately low-cut waist intended to sit low on, or below, the hips. They are also known as low-cut jeans, hipsters, hip-huggers and low riders. Low-Rise jeans are intentionally cut lower on the waist,  covering less of your body in the front  and the back. Usually the jeans sit at least three inches lower than the belly button. Although Low-Rise jeans have existed since the 1960s. Measurements

Low-Rise jeans are designed to expose a considerable amount of the upper body or the torso. The "rise" of a jeans is determined by the distance between the bottom of the crotch and the top of the Waist Band and is usually around ten to eleven inches on regular Jeans. In comparison, the average measurement of Low-Rise jeans is roughly seven inches (18 cm), with some as little as three to four inches (7.6–10 cm). these are classified as" Ultra Low Rise Jeans". On many "Ultra Low Rise Jeans" the  zipper is so small  it no longer has its traditional function, but rather becomes a display of fashion.

Here is an example of the number one question that we Receive on our website. Why does the picture and your description say size 27 but you list the waist size as size 31 ? The answer is always because it's a "Low-Rise or a Mid-rise" Jean. Its not a dumb question, its just that many people simply have never taken the time to measure the actual size of Low-Rise and Mid-Rise jeans  in INCHES! And why would you? Well until now you wouldn’t! After all when You go to the Department store You really don’t need to even look at the size of jeans you try on, Just Grab a stack and try them on! So just to Clear it up a bit, when a seller lists the "Actual" Measurements of a Low-Rise or a Mid-Rise Jean, the Waist Band Measurements will Not be the same as the Size on the tag of the Jean. A typical Low and Mid-Rise Waist Band will always measure 3-6 inches larger than the size of the Jean. This is because the Waist Band sits On,Under, or Slightly above your Hips, Depending on how Low the Rise is.
