HiFast Wireless USB Sound Card / PC Audio FM Transmitter

For proper operation of the USB transmitter you must keep the following in mind. Make sure connect the audio plug to the speaker/earphone output jack on your computer and select the right transmission frequency. Make sure the computer system volume (from CONTROL PANEL) is NOT set too low. It should be set to Med/High level. Make sure you increase the volume level of the media software you are using (e.g. Windows Media Player, iTunes, WinAmp, etc.). Start at MED/HIGH level, volume set too high will cause distortion, but volume set too low will decrease the transmitter's power output. Remember, the transmitter works similar to a pair of speakers so you need to increase the volume level to increase the power output.

Attention Apple MAC OS X USERS: If NO sound is being transmitted from HFM7U/HFM05U, then follow these instructions below:
Go to >>The Apple Menu
Go to >>System Preferences
Go to >>Hardware >>>>>Sound
Go to >>Output TAB
The HFM7U/HFM05U audio device should appear in a list as The "USB Audio DAC"
Select >>"USB Audio DAC" from the list
Once selected you should hear an audible system beep from an FM radio set to receive the radio signal from the HFM7U/HFM05U USB device.
You should now be able to transmit to your FM radio. As with both systems (PC/MAC) the sound will no longer be output to your computer speakers but rather to the FM radio set to receive the transmission. Once you unplug the transmitter from your USB Port, sound will once again be output to your default computer speakers as usual. DO NOT UNPLUG THE FM TRANSMITTER FROM YOUR USB PORT WHILE THE TRANSMITTER IS WORKING. STOP AUDIO APPLICATION FIRST, THEN UNPLUG THE FM TRANSMITTER FROM YOUR USB PORT.
 
Transmitting distance and/or background noise:
If you are experiencing problems with very short transmitting range and/or background noise, follow these steps below:
1. If you are using the USB version transmitter with an Apple MAC OS X computer, please read the up tips first.
2. For best results, plug transmitter directly into one of the USB ports in the back of the computer. The USB ports in the back of the computer plug directly onto the motherboard which helps to eliminate most of the noise from the PC other components.
3. Do not use the USB ports in the front of the PC (or extension ports) and/or a USB hub if you experience background noise.
4. Make sure the transmitter is set to a frequency that is NOT being used by a local radio station. Although it should still work, you will experience better results if you use a frequency with a weak radio broadcast or NO radio broadcast.
5. Try a different frequency; change it using the switch and instructions to see if reception improves.
6. Is there any device that might be interfering with the signal? Such devices include an ‘inverter’ or other noise generating devices. Turn off any suspect noise generating devices that are placed between the transmitter and the receiving radio to see if it eliminates the noise or static.
Keep in mind, a slight background noise is normal for all RF devices such as an FM transmitter. This will vary based on noise generated by your computer system and/or other environmental factors. HiFast FM transmitters have been equipped with electronic filters to minimize any background noises.
7. If possible try using the transmitter with a different computer in a different environment to see if performance improves.
Before contacting support follow these tips below:
1. Make sure you are NOT transmitting on an occupied frequency. Before starting the transmitter, you should go through the available frequencies (107.5 or 107.7MHz for HFM01U/HFM05U; 87.7, 87.9, 88.1, 88.3, 88.5, 88.7 or 88.9 MHz for HFM6F/HFM6U/HFM7F/HFM7U) on your radio to see which has no radio station broadcast. Then, set your transmitter to that frequency.
2. Make sure the computer system volume is set at a MED/HIGH level.
Make sure you increase the volume level of the media software you are using (e.g. Windows Media Player, iTunes, WinAmp, etc.). Start at MED/HIGH level, volume set too high will cause audio distortion, but volume set too low will decrease the transmitter's power output. Remember, the transmitter works similar to a pair of speakers so you need to increase the volume level to increase the power output.
3. Connect the USB FM transmitter to other PCs to see it works well or not.
 
HFM7U/HFM05U USB FM transmitter: PC/Windows - Apple/Mac: If the transmitter is NOT being recognized by your PC/MAC:
    - (PC Users) (If transmitter is NOT shown in the Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager
    - (Apple Users) (If transmitter is NOT shown in the System Preferences/Hardware/Sound/Output menu)
Try plugging the transmitter in a different USB port, if using a USB hub, try plugging the transmitter directly into the computer's USB port.
 
USB FM transmitter: Windows 98 SE, Windows Me will not recognize the USB FM transmitter.
HiFast FM digital audio source USB FM transmitter will only work with Windows 98SE or higher operating system
If your Windows 98 Second Edition or Windows Me is NOT recognizing the transmitter, this is due to the fact that Win98 SE and Windows Me had many problems with USB and other audio devices in their initial release.
