Wire Gauge Comparisons

Here are some common wire gauges with their inch equivalents.  The smaller the gauge number the thicker the wire.  The first number is the gauge and the second number is the AWG equivalent.

18 gauge - .0403 diameter in inches (1.024mm)
19 gauge - .0359 diameter in inches (.912mm)
20 gauge - .032 diameter in inches (.813mm)
22 gauge - .0253 diameter in inches (.645mm)
24 gauge - .0201 diameter in inches (.511)
26 gauge - .0159 diameter in inches (.404mm)
