Now you are prepared to embark into the wonderful world of winemaking.
STEPS TO MAKING WINE:
1. Wash Jar and rinse well
2. Wash Fruit throughly
3. Place fruit in jar, mashing it with hands, taking out pits if you are using peaches, plums, cherries or apricots.
4. Add 3 cups of sugar
5. Dissolve yeast in a cup of lukewarm water. If you are using winemaker's yeast, follow the directions on package. Pour into a gallon jar. If you are using active dry baking yeast, use a scant 1/2 package.
6. Fill jar with lukewarn water, leaving room for fermentation.
7. Stir contents, and then taste. If it does not taste very sweet, add more sugar (1/4 cup or so). Stir and taste again.
8. Wait two days, stir and taste adding sugar if needed; do this until the second or third week, when you become satisfied with its taste. Let it sit until fruit residue sinks to bottom.
9. Using cheese cloth, strain wine until you are satisfied that it is clear enough.
10. Pour into quart or pint containers of your choice and cap them (cork tops are preferred).
11. Now sit back and sip the wine, and share with your family and friends.
