Hello, let me start by saying I don't usually write guides, however with all of the junk I seem to be  getting from " US SELLERS/SHIPPERS " I feel it is my duty to start having a voice.  What I want to show you today is what a 'great' deal I found on ebay. I am new to the wii, and feel like it is nickel and dime-ing me to death, so , with a family of six, I decided to shop for a bargain. Man did I ever find it, for 4.99 and 3.00 shipping I could have in my hands a wii charging station. Sign me up, ship me two! I was so excited, these retail for 35 bucks plus tax! I thought about buying about five sets! Here is what I got:

Looks great right! The basic premise of this contraption is you plug it into your wii via the usb, and it charges " simultaneously" two batteries that snap onto the back,  eliminating the need for batteries, thereby becoming more " green " So what is supposed to happen is a red light on the base shines when it is charging , turning to blue when fully charged. Here is the problem:

The plug doesn't go all the way in. No big deal, it still powers up. However getting the batteries to make a good contact for a charge, well, that is another story. I never did see a red light, but then the wife messed with it for about a half hour and success, we saw it for approximately 8 seconds, then it faded away.

I promptly ripped the old backs of my wiimotes, and threw them in the drawer. That was two days ago. Today, I got mad. I noticed that no matter how long you charge them , they hold a very short time. I timed it, playing mario kart, Exactly twenty-what? Yes, TWENTY minutes of play time. Now, they are claiming that these are comparable to the name brand NYKO, and will hold 25 HOURS thats right HOURS of play time. Well, I have a destructive side.

Looks ok right? Just like any other generic rechargeable battery? Look again.

I realize that the photo is quite small, however you will see, this is a standard battery from my favorite warehouse store, right next to what is supposed to last 25 HOURS. You will see that it isn't even the size of a AAA battery! So, you are running your wimote on basically one and a half AAA batteries, Whereas you need two AA batteries! There just isn't enough power in this to run your wimote for any time period. Like your child turning on the wii and getting a game, going into setup, then it saying the battery is dead.

So, don't waste your time or money even when it is the best price. Such as look to the right of this guide, and you will see what I bought.

Pay a little more, and get quality. My suggestion is to find one slightly used or damaged packaging, but make sure it is NYKO that is what most video game stores and mass marketers sell. They are averaging about 15 dollars plus shipping. If you search wii nyko charger or any combo of that, you will find the good ones.

Please vote if you have read this, so we can help our fellow ebayers!
