Welcome to my guide about the Star Wars Customizable Card Game produced by Decipher. I decided to write a guide to why I believe this CCG to be THE best CCG ever made to date. If you think about CCGs or TCGs, many big names come to mind. Of course theres Magic: The Gathering, Verses, L5R, Lord of the Rings, Star Trek, Yu Gi O, etc. Many of you have heard about this CCG, and maybe some of you have played it once or twice. Well, I am here to tell you that Star Wars CCG is better than ALL of those that I listed. The biggest reason being the game engine or game mechanics. No other CCG plays out like this one.

What makes it different??

- TWO DECKS - Of all those CCGs I named, this is the ONLY one that requires the player to make not one but TWO decks (One Light Side & One Dark Side) to play in tournaments.

- More to Win than Luck - The problem that many card games have is how much the game can be decided by pure luck. Just getting the right card at the right time can give you an instant victory is most CCGs. Not in Star Wars. Since you have to completely drain the opponent's lifeforce of cards through Force Drains, Battling, and straight card loss, no one card can make or break the game. Sure a battle may turn out differently if you have a specific card, but now a days you can create a deck to provide you with ANY card that you want to have in your hand at the right time.

- True Movie Experience - This CCG does a great job of allowing the player to completely recreate movie scenes and play them out differently. The game follows the "What if" idea to the movies so that ANY scenario is possible.

- Games Last an Hour - Unlike simple CCGs, a game of SWCCG can go for an hour if not longer. You are given 1 hour to play a game in a tournament before time is called. Card games that take longer to play out are harder and require more out of the player to win a game. Its much easier to build a strategy that can play out in 10 minutes, but to win over a whole hour takes strategy and preparation.

- Currently Controlled by the Players - Decipher lost the license to produce this game back at the end of 2001 to Wizards of the Coast (Magic), so the game has been continued these past 5 years by the players (visit www swccgpc.com) for more information. This allows for the opportunity to win money at major tournaments as well as allow the player to create their very own original design of a card to play in the game. These cards are known as Virtual cards and can be printed out on the PC website. The V cards go over the original cards to replace their game text, thus providing fresh game play for current players. Recently, Decipher granted the PC the ability to use ALL original cards designs with the Virtual cards, so now ALL new cards look exactly like the original ones that were produced (same icons, colors patterns, and all around look of each card).

- All Cards Avaliable on Ebay - At any given moment, every single card made for the game can be found being sold by someone on Ebay, so there is no limit to how much you can get into this game. Ebay is one of the main reasons the game has been able to continue without a company to mass produce it.

Bottom line is if you truly love the story of Star Wars AND you love card games. Then grab a friend and pick up the "Newbie Starter Pack" as I like to call it. Pick up these items on Ebay to best learn the game before spending real money on the main characters and rare cards.

- Death Star II Starter Deck 1x Light Side & 1x Dark Side = $5 to $10 Max for both

- Defensive Shields from Reflections 3 (Also Virtual on PC Website) = $5 to $15 for both Light and Dark depending on how many are Virtual.

(I used to have a box of Reflections I as part of this because they had cards from most of the sets in them, and were only like $30, now that the price has gone up on them, please just get the first two and learn the basic idea of the game before spending real money here on Ebay)

If you get all of these items, you will have enough cards to learn to play every aspect of the game. Learning the phases, what different card types do, and how to set each game up with Objectives. After a few games, you will have the basic grasp of the game and be able to understand what cards would be better in which deck type.

Once you have learned the basic aspect of the game, feel free to visit either        (www decktech.net) or (www swccgpc.com) to see posted decks by the top players as well as forums for asking questions.

Give it a try, you will not be sorry if you love Star Wars.
