There are a lot of stores selling the Da-Lite Model B manual screen on eBay for use in your home theater. But, you may not know, there is another option called the Model B with CSR. What does CSR mean and why would you want it on your manual screen? Read below to find out more...
Da-Lite offers a feature called CSR on two of their manual screens, the Model C with CSR and the Model B with CSR. But what does CSR mean and what can it do for you?
CSR stands for Controlled Screen Return. This feature acts as a type of braking system to provide a slow return of the fabric into the case prolonging the life of the product. That's RIGHT! It can actually help your screen last longer and function better than a regular manual pull down screen!
I always recommend CSR when you are installing a manual pull down screen in a house with kids. It is a nice safety feature to ensure your new screen never gets yanked on and accidentally snapped back into the case.
Another great reason to get CSR is if you are installing your screen high up on a wall or ceiling. It may be difficult to guide the screen back up in the case when the case is way up out of reach. CSR will solve that problem too, by allowing one small tug and then guiding the screen safely back into the case.
Yes, as with any added feature, a screen with CSR costs a little bit more. But think about this. Your screen will last you through several upgrades in projectors. Why not think more carefully about your purchase and get the best possible screen now. Then you will have more money for the other fun parts of your home theater, like popcorn and new DVDs!!
