Why is feedback important? How do I get it and use it?

Why Leave Feedback?

Many new eBay'ers buy things off eBay that seem like great deals (too good to be true), but end up getting ripped off because:. the seller does not send the item (which is now covered by PayPal but takes forever to get the insurance refund) or they send something similar but different ("bait-and-switch" illegal tactics). This sort of thing mainly happens because the new buyer is not aware of the importance of how someone's feedback really shows the type of seller they are. If the seller only has 2 feedbacks and is selling you a $2000 new laptop for $400 BuyItNow with free shipping you are getting ripped off for sure, or if the seller has 500 feedbacks but 30 of those are negative that is a very unreliable seller and is not worth dealing with no matter how good the deal seems.

What most smart eBay'ers do is only buy from people with a high feedback score and over 99% positive rating. That way you are almost always guaranteed to have a great experience with a long-standing+honest seller, and you will get your item quickly and safely!

If you don't leave feedback for others, they will not leave feedback for you and you will lose a lot of business because no one will trust you with such a low feedback rating. Some people will even leave you a negative feedback just because you didn't leave them any feedback, or waited a month to leave them feedback!

Problems With The Feedback System

Many people spend hours a week leaving feedback for their fellow eBay'ers which is very time consuming if you are a PowerSeller and sell in high volume. eBay's feedback system is not the most streamlined so it does take a lot of time even to leave 10 people feedback each day. Some PowerSellers only send out feedback once a month which makes their customers angry because they think they forgot about them. In many cases they really do forget about them waiting that long! Some people even wait for positive feedback and then leave the other trader negative feedback which is obviously unfair and daunting if you rely on good feedback to make good sales gestures such as "Look at my great feedback! You can trust me!", and eBay won't do anything about it if that happens so here's one way to avoid that...

A Good Solution

A good solution to save you time and effort is using a cool software tool  that automates all your feedback responses which lets you have a lot more time to do more important things! One neat program is called New Atomic Feedback Tool that installs on your system tray for easy access and checks at any time iterval you set, such as every hour, every 10 minutes, etc.  It will leave feedback for anyone as soon as they leave feedback for you so you can avoid those pesky negative feedbacks for taking too long to respond to them.
