Why do children want the tags cut out of their shirts?

Many children cannot stand to have tags in their shirts or even their pants. Some children like to wear panty hose all the time and others go naked all the time. Why?

Many of those children have sensory intergration disorder. This is were they cannot have a balance in their sensory system. I think of it as a teeter totter. If children do not like touch then they are always trying to get that teeter totter balanced by wanting their parents to cut the tags out, taking their clothes off all the time, they don't want to take a bath or not wanting to get their hair cut.

On the other end they love the input of touch. They lay all over you, want to be tickled and want hugs, they want to wear layers or tight fitting clothes and they love to take baths until they are pickled.

Just because your child may do one thing or the other does not mean they have this disorder. If they cannot function in life or learn then it becomes a problem. As always please contact your doctor or teacher if you suspect they may have a sensory intergration disorder.

They are now making shirts with the  size and information printed on the inside. I would recommend this type because if you cut tags out then you cannot resell them. That is huge investment that will be just thrown out. If you have other children then it is hard to hand down clothes when you do not know the sizes.

If you have any questions then please contact me.

Please check out my children's clothes and the homemade jewelry. There is a discount on shipping for additional items won.
