Hi!
First let me introduce myself properly. I am Judie, the sole artist behind Love Is Forever Nursery or abbreviated as LIF Nursery on my auctions. I thoroughly enjoy creating my reborn babies and I mean that sincerely. I have been reborning since late 2004 and as with all serious artists, I know that I have improved through years of experience, yet I still feel that I have a long way to go. It is not enough for me to just improve. I want my babies to take your breath away when you see them up close and personal. When you hold them, I want you to feel the warmth and the love that I have for them as I reborn them. I work hard on my babies until I feel that I would purchase them without regret. I do lots of research so that I can continue to find ways that can only enhance my babies through newfound techniques. I study real babies through photos as well as living breathing little angels. I have a Bachelors Degree in business and being a former Intensive Care Nurse, I primarily worked with adults, left the hospital and actually did a complete career change, and retired as an automotive assembler. I now devote my time to working with my babies. My Ebay name is: my2boyzs. Now, enough about me...
I know that you have read it before, but I want to reinforce what you already know when deciding to purchase your very first, second or third reborn! I am going to make this short and to the point.
First and foremost do your research!
There are some very talented reborn artists that are serious about what they do and work very hard to bring you a baby that you can be thrilled to hold and enjoy for as long as you want. Reserves are placed for a reason, not to get rich on ebay. It might be nice, but probably only happens for an elite few. If you would...consider the time invested, which can be days more often weeks, and most serious reborners such as myself will not get their due worth. We at least try to recoup the cost of the kit or doll which can range from $60.00 and more (oh...that doesn't include s/h charges). We have investments in hair (the better quality...the more expensive), baby weighting materials, bodies, paints supplies, eBay fees and more s/h charges. Oh...last but not least those beautiful layettes that these gorgeous babies arrive with just for you. Which for most of us are brand new and some times very expensive baby items unless otherwise stated by that artist. It is an expensive art form to create, but I feel it is well worth it when that new mommy tells you that she is so impressed that she almost broke out in tears from happiness!
You as a consumer should study different reborns and determine which is most eye appealing to you. Look at the feedback and that can sometimes help you when you are indecisive about a baby! And if they offer an "Me" page...by all means READ IT. We are real people, just like you and we want you to know that. We are very serious about our ART and we want, sincerely want, our babies going home to people that truly appreciate the work, the effort, the love, and the heart that we put into our babies. I hope that this brief guide has given you at least a little more understanding about other factors surrounding our art!
Thus...the reserve price...now I hope that you understand why we apply a needed reserve price. Go and find your baby, and feel good about your decision making on the baby that catches your eye.
Hugs and God bless,
Judie
