You might think "why on earth would someone want to buy makeup or cosmetic samples"? 

"I thought samples meant FREE".......I get that a lot!

Well after over a year of selling TONS of Mary Kay samples I am here to tell you why you might want to purchase a nice lot of your own makeup samples.

One or two samples from a cosmetics consultant like a Mary Kay representative ARE free.

Giving you a few samples here and there is a great way for them to encourage their customers to try new products. Many give you a few when you purchase a product from them. You will probably notice that the sample is totally different from the item you bought. You bought a moisturizer so they add a lipstick or eye shadow sample. That is good business. You may now have an interest in more of their products.

OK...back to the original question...... Why BUY lots of makeup samples?

These are some the reasons my customers tell me they buy them :

• Slumber Parties!  Very popular reason....What FUN!    They make a great girl's night in!
• One was a mother wanting quality time with her teenage daughters...great idea!
• Give a few to all of your female co-workers...Brighten a boring Wednesday. Nice surprise!
• Add a few cosmetic samples to your e-bay customer's purchase! Buyers love surprises.
• TRAVEL! How convenient...just slip them in you pocket or purse. They travel well
• Photo shoots for girls or ladies ...have hygenic single use makeup available for each person
• Some are so flat (eye shadow, cheek blush samples) that you can slip a few in a Birthday card...More fun than confetti!
• Try tons of new colors on yourself before purchasing. Save lots of money and not be disappointed.
• Treat yourself. Tons of fun!
• You might even find your reasons once you recieve your samples

I do sometimes have Mary Kay reps buy the samples from me since I sell cheaper than the company if they need a big variety.  I am very happy to sell to these consultants but I do caution them to watch which lots they choose to buy from me. My goal in these lots is to give my buyers the biggest selection and variety possible , especially in my 50, 75 and 100 piece sample lots. To do this I offer a great mix of current and discontinued , hard to find items....I like to even throw in a rare vintage item from time to time. This gives my buyers tons of colors to try.

Another misconception is that those Mary Kay Consultants that I spoke of earlier get their samples free.  Oh my!  Is that ever a myth!  That is why they only give you a few and only if you buy a full sized product or to promote a new item. Samples are quite expensive for the MK rep to buy from the company. You would really be surprised.

Another VERY important reason why you might want to buy single use samples is HYGIENE!

Sharing makeup, especially foundations , lipsticks and mascara, is a great way to share and spread bacteria.  This is especially true for the parties and photo ops I mentioned above.

So...if you want a great variety of sample cosmetics to have fun with or share with friends...e-bay is where to find them!
