The default "My World" page contains your latest feedback and a generic image (see below), but did you know you can add so much more to it? Why? Well, in my opinion, the main reason for enhancing your "My World" page is to offer your own personal profile in an otherwise impersonal world of online identities.

For buyers who are just getting familiar with online shopping, the main roadblock they encounter is the concept that not only will they be buying something they haven't touched, but their concern that they will paying someone they've never met!
Creating your own eBay "My World" page puts a human identity to your eBay username. You can add a photo of yourself if you'd like, give a brief description about who you are, share some of your interests and hobbies, let us know what you typically buy and sell, showcase your reviews & guides, link to your eBay blog and now you can even add a guest book to your "My World" page! To see an example, feel free to check out My World page.
Offering potential bidders the chance to learn more about you can increase their confidence to bid on your widgets, therefore increasing your sales! For newbies like myself who don't have a long eBay history or a high number of feedback, this has helped me tremendously and so far, I have an 86% selling ratio and sold my first widget with 8 feedback (100% positive).
Getting involved in the eBay community is also a valuable tool in your eBay experience, whether you frequent the Discussion Boards, Answer Center, Blogs, Groups and/or Chat Rooms. When I visit these pages, I admit that I tend to click on a lot of "My World" pages just to see "who" that person is, so I also figure everyone else does the same thing, too. Well, guess what? I just noticed that someone who frequents the same pages I do (and posted a comment on my blog) also just bid on one of my items!
Helping others also has its rewards besides just feeling good sharing your experiences and knowledge...that's why I write eBay Guides! I never expected this when I wrote my first three guides, but because you answered "YES" to the question "Was this guide helpful?" those caring votes awarded me a title of "Top 10,000 Reviewer" that I proudly see next to my name. Thank you all for voting and I'm glad you found my guides to be helpful!
