Who's who in space exploration begins with a listing of the first one hundred humans who travelled into space. These astronauts and cosmonauts really put their lives on the line from 1961-1981 in the advance of science.
If you collect space memorabilia and autographs, these are the founding fathers (and mother) of space travel. Bear in mind their ranking numbers are not exact, since there were some two and three-man crews that travelled into space simultaneously.
This is the group I collect, and I've been collecting space autographs since the 1980s. I'm so into it that I published the newsletter "Space Autograph News" for five years, and I wrote the book "Space Autograph Price Guide" in 1999. It's a fun hobby, because you can learn a lot about history too.
I think it's important to realize that space exploration is an international endeavor, not just an American or Russian achievement. For more information, consult the great reference books by Tim Furness, "Manned Spaceflight Log" (1983) and "Space Flight: The Records (1985).

Thanks for taking a moment to review my guide. Now I have a small favor to ask. See that question below that asks, "Was this guide helpful?" with the "Yes" and "No" buttons. I sure would appreciate it if you could click the "Yes" or the "No" button. Not too many people leave any feedback, but if you do, I think you're cool! Have a great day!
