Nintendo Wii

The vast majority of the Wii games are rated E for everyone, meaning that any age can play and enjoy the game. It is a family friendly console and I highly recommend purchasing this console if you have children and are afraid they will play "innapropriate" games on other consoles.

Xbox 360

The Microsoft Xbox 360 features amazing online play, headsets for communicating with friends, and more. I recommend this console if you are a teenager and don't mind the "gory" content or an adult without children. It's also great to purchase if you have other friends with this console as most of the titles are multiplayer online.

PS3

The Sony PS3 is the most expensive of the bunch and as such (and being released later than the previously mentioned two consoles) has fewer console-specific games. I would only recommend purchasing this console if you have lots of spare cash lying around and don't mind waiting for better games to release. For the average individual, I don't think this is the route to go and I'd recommend either an Xbox 360 or a Wii. :)
