Digital Photography Review is a great website to do side by side comparisons on digital cameras. If the some of the terms seem confusing -- they've got a glossary too!  You  can read some of the forums to see users comments about the equipment -- problems they've run into etc.   When I got an error message on my EOS 20D (my one and only) this is the place I surfed to find the answer.  You can even learn a bit about 'tricks' to using the camera you end up buying!

The reviews on Ebay are good - but the Digital Photography Review site can provide a bit more in depth information.

I'm an old school 35mm person and DPR helped me make the jump to all digital with confidence.
