Getting scrapbooking Ideas for your personal pages
When I first started scrapbooking the hardest thing for me was photo and embellishment placement, making the layout pleasing to the eye. There are a lot of ways to get ideas on this.
First of all, the obvious place to look would be scrapbooking magazines. Some of the magazine even give you layout diagrams to follow and show you different ways that they were instituted by their own designers.
A not so obvious place to look is at advertisements in newspapers, fliers and magazines. Look how graphic artists set about doing their layout to make it pleasing to the eye.
Another rather obvious idea, is check the pre-made pages or paper-piecing categories here on ebay. Wow, was all I could think when I first started looking through these talented peoples work. But I got so many good ideas this way on layout and technique. You will see things that you never see in a magazine. Also of note, a lot of designers are willing to answer questions on their techniques and layouts, which brings me to another good sourse, the scrapbooking forum. There is one here on ebay, and many other scrapping sites offer forums for people to share their ideas.
I hope this helps you out a little, and I am always happy to answer questions myself. Happy Scrapping!
