I will help you decide what card to buy and where buy it as cheap as possible !
Hi! I am a seller on EBAY called '' combokar '' I am a french canadian (that explain my not so good english lol) father of 2 boys (11 and 13 yo) who just love collecting Chaotic and Yu-gi-oh cards so I started helping them build their collection years ago so here you fill find the results of our experience. May this help you do the things the right way on your first try and save a lot of money!!!
When you are done reading dont forget to vote for us! ;O)
This is our guide #3,first we have see how to start collecting cards then how to start filling up our pages cheaply now we will see how and where to buy our cards.
Now you have to decide if you want to collect cards seriously or not .I know some kids that just want to get cards from a certain tribe or simply shinny holofoils cards so here you need to decide what you want.Normally when you collect cards you go for the whole set so let's do it as if it was your choice ;O) .
To buy chaotic cards you can either :
- Buy them in any store that sell them (Now this is often the most expensive way to buy a pack and you dont even know if the boxes have been searched or not which mean that some card shop open boxes and takes off the most valuable cards(ultra's) then sell the rest. I know you are wondering how they can do that lol well they usually place the pack with an ultra rare in it in the same corner of the box so... and as for the Yu-gi-oh cards some can even weight the packs to feel which gets the holo's.
- Second option is to buy the complete SEALED (if the box isint sealed be sure their wont be any ultra rare in it ) box in a card shop. With that option you will pay a lot but you are sure to get an ultra rare card (one per box) .If you know in advance that you will buyu at least 20 packs then this is your option #1.
- You also can go on EBAY and look either for stores that sells cards there or individuals that do the same (just like us) because they have bought more than what they need and sell the rest cheaply(usually ;O) ) . Their you can buy packs or boxes (about boxes be sure they were not opened to take the pack with the ultra rare out and re-scealed with a special machine. Check the feedbacks of the seller ,that may help) or find the cards you need either 1 by 1 or by lots. As an exemples in a series of 100 cards like let say ''Turn of the tide'' there are 26 common cards 21 un-common cards ,25 rares, 17 super rare and 10 ultra rares. To get the 47 common and un-common cards you need to buy 6 pack of cards and wish that all those different cards will be in those 6 packs.Let me tell you right away that this will not happen ;O) .We often bought boxes in the past which represent 24 packs and this doesnt even guarantee you to get those 47 cards so in order not to spend much you go to an EBAY seller (just like me of course ) and you buy those complete set in one shot for an affordable price and you can do the same things about the rares because it takes at least 13 packs to gets the 25 rares which make no sens so you go straight to buy them as a complete set of rare and save lotsss of $$$. For the rarest cards their is 8 super rare and 1 ultra rare in a box of 24 packs so to get them all you need to buy a minimum of 10 boxes (boxes cost an average of 65$) which almost nobody can and should do!!! So you need to hunt them down one by one . Most (did i say all? no i said most ;O) ) of the super rare can actually be win in auctions for about 1 or 2 $ each while some like tangath toborn in training sells at around 30.$ and the ultra can mostly be found between 10.$ and 60.$ and sometimes reach 100. to 200.$ for 1 single card (yes i am serious ...) like Aa'une or Van bloot ect...
Whatever the card you need be patient and always on the lookout because you never know when a good opportunity might appear and also stay alert because when it looks to good to be true it is usually some kinda trap or hoax and you might just burn your finger a few times to learn it or simply follow some simple rules that i will list in my next guide about sellers on EBAY.
Thanks for reading this . I hope it was helpfull in any ways. Now go vote for me! ;O)
