When Do I Buy A Car?

The best time to buy a new car is…before you need the car.

There are two ways that will help you decide the right time for buying a new car:

a. Ask yourself if you really need the new car. Plan a budget. Search for cars that fit into your budget. Personally visit the different car dealers and showrooms and find out all the information regarding your favorite car. Select the best deal. Sure, this will take your time and energy. But remember, buying a car is an expensive and careful proposition. It’s your hard earned money, so be careful.

b. Some expert dealers in the car business believe that there are certain ‘best times’ to buy a new car. Their insights are not completely scientific research but are merely based on their experience in the automobile industry. The best times according to these professionals are:

• End of December: The last weeks of December are holiday seasons. People are relaxing and buying gifts for their loved ones. Cars generally don’t feature in people’s idea of gift buying and the car dealers are left with few customers. To motivate people to buy cars, they cut prices and offer incentives. So if you are not in a hurry, wait till December before buying your dream car.

• July-October: This is the time for new car models to arrive in the market. Thus, the dealers sell the existing models at cheaper prices. So wait for that new car model, and then make your buy.

The ‘best times’ works when you are in no hurry to buy a new car. However, we recommend that you prepare in advance before making a new purchase. Give yourself time, weigh your resources, make a list of your requirements, figure out your budget and only then drive away in your dream car. Driving away with the car of your dreams at the right price can make your dream last a bit longer.
