So, you've decided you like the Sidekick®, but you're unsure as to which model you want, the 2 or the 3. Well, there are a few added features that the Sidekick 3 has, that the Sidekick 2 does not. But it is up to you to decide what exactly you plan on using your device for. The Sidekick 2 has a few less features, but you can find one for much cheaper. The Sidekick 3 has a few more features, but its going to cost you a little more.

A short list of features that were added to the Sidekick 3:

-Better Camera (1.3 megapixels)
-MSN & Yahoo! Messenger (In addition to AIM)
-Stereo Bluetooth® (Limited Bluetooth - Headset use and sending of vCards only)
-miniSD card (more memory)
-Music Player (MP3 player)

Once again, it is up to you to decide how exactly you plan on using this device.

If you like to listen to MP3's, take higher quality pictures, use MSN or Yahoo! messenger, or use a bluetooth headset, I recommend getting a Sidekick 3.

If you will be content with just browsing the internet, sending and receiving e-mail, and unlimited text messaging, then I would suggest getting the Sidekick 2 in order to save some money.

The web browser on the Sidekick 3 has been upgraded, and now contains EDGE, which makes it faster. So if you browse the internet frequently, then you should take that into consideration.

Another difference between the devices, although quite small, is size. The size of the Sidekick 2 is: 5.1 x 2.6 x 0.9 inches, and it weighs approximately 7 ounces. The size of the Sidekick 3 is: 5.1 x 2.3 x 0.9 inches, and it also weighs approximately 7 ounces. So there is a very small difference, but the device is already somewhat large, so to some people, this might be very important.

I myself have owned both devices, and because they are both great, I switch back and forth between the two on a regular basis.
