If you are changing your headlights and dont want to get an expensive HID conversion kit here's a tip. First of all the real HID kits are expensive depending on where you get them and if they are used or new. If you have a nice car that does not come with the factory HID system I strongly recommend it.
I own a 96 civic hatchback, i am a car enthusiast so i buy a lot of things for my car. I have about 5 pairs of Xenon Bulbs all different colors. My favorites are the purple and the yellow, some people say that the yellow bulbs look like a pair of beat up stock bulbs. This is probably because the color temperature is too high. For example a pair of purple bulbs with a 8000k temperature rating are more blue-ish than purple. On the other hand a pair of purple bulbs with a 3000k temperature rating are actually a deep purple. This means that the lower the temperature rating the more the color will stand out that you like. So if your looking for some color in your bulbs make sure the bulb has a tempurature rating of 6000k or less becuause if it doesnt the bulb will be more towards a white color. And if you get cheap bulbs like those japanese bulbs (not all but some of them) lose their color with time. If you dont want to get an HID system the best bet is to go with HELLA Xenon bulbs. These bulbs are super bright and can be mistaken for an HID system at night... not to mention they last just as long as your whole car does and you can pick up a pair for $20-$50 depending on where you buy them.
Some people ask me if i have an HID system in my car and i must say it feels good. So dont forget... when you buy bulbs make sure you know what the color temperature is! HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEBODY....THANX
