My story
I was always finding myself with a closet full of clearance rack items. Not too many of them looked great on me and I was never all that comfortable in them. I tried shopping on Ebay, getting the item in the mail and not having it fit or look right. Then one day I had an ephifany. Why not dress my body shape with clothes that make it look good!? Ah Ha! So I dug into some research and came up with own game plan.
I wanted to look my best. I wanted to have clothes taht fit my lifestyle and not someone else’s. I needed to work around my budget. I was going to look my best without a facelift or altering surgery - working with what I was given. So, with the knowledge of my body shape and some basic guidelines, I have clothes I love. I’ve stopped wasting money. I can shop just about anywhere. I’ve even found some amazing pieces on Ebay! So, here are my results...
Body shape
Get naked and stand in front of a mirror, and ask yourself what you love about your body and what you hate. The things you hate are what you can hide; the things you love are the things you can afford to show off. Be honest and objective.
Flat-chested: Most women who are flat-chested have a tendency to carry their weight on their bum. So, show off those arms with a lovely sleeveless round neck top.
Short-waisted with long legs: If you have a short body and long legs, chances are you have big tits. Pull up the breasts with a really good bra so they won’t accentuate your short waist. Also, wear short jackets that hit the hip-bone. If you’re short waisted it means there less than 3 inches between your lowest rib and your hip bone, and long waisted means more than 4 inches between.
Long body with short legs: Never wear cropped pants/capri’s; they make your legs shorter. Layer your top half. Wear a long t-shirt under a sweater to break up your long back. Keep pants very long, and wear a higher heel.
Larger-size: Don’t hide yourself in big clothing that make you look like you’re wearing a tent, and don’t be afraid to wear tighter clothes.
Short neck: Buy deep V or low fronted tops. High necks will only make your neck look shorter.
Broad shoulders and slim hips: Buy flat-fronted long trousers and skirts cut on the bias.
Hourglass/Curvy Lucky
Hourglasses have perfectly proportioned upper and lower halves with a well defined waist. If they gain weight, they have a tendency to gain it all over the body.
jackets · long in length with slits at the sides or at the back · buttons under bosom · three quarter length arms · avoid double-breasted or boxy cuts
tops · long sleeved, light fabric to cover the arms · buttons under the bosom · v or scoop necks, fitted at the waist • tightly fitted and drapy with a wide low neck, BUT not too deep a V (minimizes the waist). Wrap tops show off the waist and cleavage. Try puffed shoulders to widen sloping shoulders or fluted and ¾ length sleeves show off the wrists. Sweaters only in the finest fabrics nothing puffy • gypsy “wench” tops with fluted three quarter or full length sleeves

Make sure they are long, to the floor.
avoid sleeveless tops (narrows the shoulders), horizontal stripes, drawstring trousers, and necklaces
Apple/Round Circle
Typically bigger on top than on the bottom. An Apple usually has slim hips but might have a big belly and a flat bum. When Apples gain weight, they gain it above the waist.

tops always layer tops to break up the long back hair give it some shape and warm up the color, more depth will make it look thicker • Tees with a crew neck, thin scoop, or V-neck to go under suit • sleeveless with a round neck will hide the bony pigeon chest and show off toned arms ruffled, frilled, or patterened blouses create a focus where there is none

Princess line is best, going in under the bust with side zip and a slight v-neck. • preferably no shirt collars, or keep it very small. • wrap tops create waist line/hourglass figure: worn over a darker camisole will make shoulders look smaller. Slashneck tops with fluted sleeves balance arms. Look for rouching.
