What’s new in the HDMI 1.3?
Actually previous versions of HDMI already have enough bandwidth to support existing HDTV formats. 1.3 further increases its bandwidth to 340 MH to support future demand of high resolutions, deep color and higher frame rates.

Actually previous versions of HDMI already have enough bandwidth to support existing HDTV formats. 1.3 further increases its bandwidth to 340 MH to support future demand of high resolutions, deep color and higher frame rates.
New Major Supports Included in HDMI 1.3 specifications are:
- Higher Speed: 340 MHz (10.2 Gbps)
- Deep Color: 10-bit, 12-bit and 16-bit (RGB or YCbCr) colour depths for rending of over 1 billion colours.
- New mini connector: Smaller connector option for small portable devices.
- HD Lossless Audio Formats: Add technical support for new lossless compressed digital audio formats Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio.
