What is the difference between tea bags and loose tea?

By Silver Leaf Tea Company

Tea bags are a popular choice for many people. There are some tea bags that have quality teas in them, but most have very inferior teas, stems, and debris in them. Loose leaf teas are preferred for their fine quality because it is easy to tell if they are quality or the left over tea remnants. We have tested many popular brands of tea in comparison with ours. For example, we tested a few very famous tea brands and below are pictures to show their tea bag and the actual contents. For the purpose of this example we used this brand's peach tea teabag (we have not mentioned the exact brand name because the purpose of this is not to hurt another company, rather it is to show through images the vast difference between our exotic and gourmet teas and the high end teas that can be bought in exotic botiques and stores). For this example we did not test very cheap store brands, because they are well known to use inferior teas and are not advertising as exotic, gourmet, or luxury. Comparing our exotic and gourmet teas with cheap brands would be unfair, though in this test the "luxury" brand was no better than cheap brands we have examined in the past.

On first look the tea bag looks well made and the tea has a nice peach smell, though it seems very light in comparison with our peach tea. The problem is that many of these flavored teas have flavors, chemicals, and things added to them to make them taste and smell like the real thing. Unfortunately, it is generally cheaper to fake flavors and smells than to work at providing consistant flavor through the actual item the flavor is named after! Do you want artificial peach flavoring added to a peach tea or a true peach tea with real peach pieces and real peach flavor extracted FROM THE PEACH ITSELF? The choice is clear!

Let us look at the photos to see the difference in the quality in a high end tea company's tea bag and our loose leaf tea.

Peach tea teabag from famous luxury tea brand!

About to cut the peach tea teabag open to examine the contents!

The peach tea teabg is now cut open!

We poured out the contents and the picture says it all.

Above is a closer up picture of the famous tea brand's peach tea teabag contents. The tea looks inferior and like the scraps of tea were used in this high end, luxury teabag! Now compare the contents of their peach tea with our loose leaf peach tea as seen below.

Notice how our peach tea has a full bodied black tea with the soothing benefits of marigold flowers perfectly blended with peach pieces and real peach flavor creating a wonderful summer tea that is delicious both hot and iced! The quality difference is obvious, and the flavor is dramatically different. We welcome you to enjoy your tea again by trying our exotic and gourmet teas from around the world!
