What is cremation jewelry and memorial jewelry?
This special jewelry is designed to bring memories to an even more personal level by holding a small portion of cremated remains (ashes), a lock of hair, dried ceremonial flowers or earth from a burial service. Memorial jewelry is also very commonly known as cremation jewelry. Cremation jewelry is available in a wide variety of shapes, styles and jewelry finishes. The cremation pendants may be worn or displayed in a glass dome to protect them. Please see pictures below for examples pendants and glass domes.Filling cremation jewelry or memorial jewelry
The jewelry is created and designed by a professional jeweler that specially designs the pendant with a small opening. The jewelry is opened from a threaded top or a threaded screw found on the back of the pendant. A funnel is typically supplied and the cremains, lock of hair, dried flowers or earth are carefully placed into the pendant. We recommend sealing the pendant by applying a small amount of epoxy to the threads of the screw during the sealing process. This helps ensure that moisture and other contaminants do not enter the jewelry.Caring and maintaining your cremation jewelry and memorial jewelry
It’s important to take proper care of the special pedants. Carefully removing dirt and oils with a soft jewelry cloth is required to preserve the surface. It is also recommend to have a jeweler professionally clean the pendant when necessary. Proper cleaning and maintenance will preserve it’s beautiful finish. Please contact Perfect Memorials for more help and information on cremation jewelry and memorial jewelry.
