What is an import and why should I be interested?
That's a good question that deserves an answer. An import, simply put, is a compact disc title that is manufactured outside the U.S., and is not available through domestic labels. An import could be unique for several reasons. It could be:
- out of print in the U.S.
- have bonus tracks not available on the U.S. version
- have different bonus packaging not available on the U.S. copy or
- may be available in foreign markets before the U.S. market or
- the import version may be digitally re-mastered or enhanced with CD - ROM material
All of the above make an import a desirable commodity for collectors and the casual fan alike. Due to the vast amount of music around the world, record labels cannot make available all compact discs, by all artists, in all countries at one time. So search for import music CDs on ebay and find that unique CD not easily found in your local area.
Will an import CD play on my CD player?
The answer is YES!
