What is a slipleash ?
A slip leash is a handy over the head, collar & leash in one.
The leash is attached to the collar thus avoiding extra metal hardware and clumsy clips.
Some slip leads have a martingale feature. The Martingale feature protects the dog from being able to back out of the leash/collar and protects the dog's throat.
How to use?
Widen the collar and slip over the dogs head. Adjust the strap to fit around the doggies neck snuggly. Around three fingers should fit between the dogs neck and the collar for a regular shaped dog. Dogs like greyhounds with smaller head/neck ratios need a very snug fit.
To remove, simply draw the adjuster away and lift the collar over the dogs head.
Why is it useful?
A slip lead is useful for agility and dog sport, because you can quickly set your dog, remove the leash and collar, toss it and GO!
Not just for AGILITY, the martingale slip leash is good for training in basic obedience because you have a good control of your dog, since your dog can respond to the tightening of the collar.
