A new term that is being used more and more in describing drums is a term called a "shell pack".
This is letting you know that no cymbals and hardware are included with the drums you are buying. Most shell packs do include the tom mounts and legs for the floor tom.
If the auction photo shows the complete drum set with the cymbals and hardware and the description says shell pack only, do not expect the other items when the drums arrive. You are only buying the shells and mounting hardware like tom mounts and floor tom legs. (No stands are included unless clearly stated.)
It is also common for people selling drums to list the item as a 3 piece drum set or 5 piece drum set. When you see this, it is the number of drums. It is not common to include the hardware and cymbals in a count of the number of pieces. Even though cymbals and hardware are usually included, be careful to read the listing and ask questions to make sure exactly what you are getting.
I have seen many listings with a complete set of drums in the photo and the description states this is for the 3 piece set only. So here again ask questions and make sure you know what you are buying.
