Today you will find that most if not all "Tiffany" Lamps and fixtures to be found, are in actuality not true "Tiffany" lamps or fixtures at all, but rather reproductions.

Louis Comfort Tiffany was the only creator of true 'Tiffany' Lamps. He passed away back in 1933 at age 85. Companies such as Dale Tiffany, Paul Sahlin, Meyda Tiffany, and Robert Louis Tiffany, are ALL imitations (and I do sell them all). NONE are original Louis Comfort Tiffany Lamps. The only true tiffany lamps were made by Tiffany Studios.

Companies like "DALE TIFFANY", for instance are often thought to be true "Tiffany" fixtures, when they are actually creating reproductions of the early true original "Tiffany" lighting. Dale Tiffany has even gone so far as to include a "signature" plate on their fixtures. Further adding to the confusion in my opinion. This could/may lead some buyers into thinking they are getting an old hand crafted TRUE Tiffany, signed and all! They are getting a signed REPRODUCTION. Nothing more.

This is confusing to many buyers looking for a Tiffany fixture. True "Tiffany" lighting will generally be in the 100's of thousands of dollar range. Meaning you are not likely to find one here on Ebay. In fact most true Tiffany fixtures are kept in museums and private collections.

Many of the new reproductions are crafted in a similar manner to the old original Tiffany lamps. Some manufacturers are now using "lead free" material, which some feel is actually a better product.

The quality reproductions are being made to look very similar/close to original. This is a great advantage to the buyer who wants the Filet Minon, but prefers the more reasonable price of hamburger!

You can find many high quality reproductions on the market today. Ask what material is being used on that fixture. Is it made with real cut glass? Or is it made of plastic? I personally only sell high quality cut glass fixtures. Never plastic. You will not find finer reproductions anywhere. In fact I SELL ALL OF THE ABOVE MAKERS OF TIFFANY LIGHTING. That being said, I offer an excellent value when you consider price.

Don't be ashamed of buying a quality modern crafted Tiffany fixture. Today "Tiffany" lighting is considered a type of lighting or a style of lighting. It is not likely that any of your friends will ever be able to tell the difference between your fixture and that $100,000.00 museum piece! It is also not likely that any of your friends own a true Tiffany either. Go ahead and enjoy the look. A quality Tiffany style fixture will bring you much joy. Most of the quality fixtures are crafted in the same way as the old originals, and will likely be the focal point at that next home gathering!
